A Biofilm is a collection of bacteria and microorganisms that have formed a sticky layer and bonded to a solid surface within the HVAC system.
Biofilm will often form on the HVAC coils within the AHU. It is, therefore, important that the coils are routinely tested for Biofilm and remedial work completed if it is detected.
